President Al-Bashir instructs development of oil fields and explorations

President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, has issued directives to Oil Ministry to develop oil fields and intensify explorations in all northern states.
State Minister of Oil Ministry, Eng. Ali Ahmed Osman, Wednesday, briefed President Al-Bashir on performance of his ministry and its future plans.
President Al-bashir took note of efforts being exerted to develop oil field besides new explorations.
His Excellency called for expansion of explorations as well as attracting new investors to operate in the oil exploration after ensuring their technical and financial capabilities.
On the other hand, Eng. Osman stated declared devolution of the pipeline of squares 1, 2 and 4 to the government of Sudan by 70 % for the time being, which will be 100 % owned by the government by 2014.
He said that he briefed President Al-bashir on the agreement of Al-Foula Electricity Station, 405 megawatts, as well as completing strategic warehouses in Nyala to supply Darfur with oil.
The minister said that the exploration future plan targets production of 125,000 barrels per day (bpd) by the end of the current year and 200,000 bpd by the end of the coming year to reach to 325 by the end of 2016.
