Khartoum, March 3 (SUNA) - The Minister of Social Welfare and Security, Dr. Amira Al-Fadil, has affirmed keenness of the ministry to implement the directives of President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, pertinent to the health insurance services and expansion of coverage area .
This came through a briefing she presented to the sitting of the Council of Ministers Thursday which was devoted to the deliberations on the experience of the health insurance .
Dr. Amira said in a press statement that the Cabinet underscored inclusion of new 100,000 families under the umbrella of the health insurance through finance from the federal Ministry of Finance.
She said that a joint committee, including the Ministry of Social Welfare and Security, Ministry of Finance and the Federal Ministry of Health, was formed for absorbing 100,000 families in the health insurance services from the different states and including 5,000 families for each state, besides allocating higher percentages for the states affected by disputes and adjacent ones .
She said that the council emphasized the importance of health insurance as the project aims for the social protection and integration based on increasing of contributors, explaining that the Cabinet recommended conducting of an evaluation study on the health insurance experience with participation of expertise houses from abroad, the Federal Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization.
